It is true that you can never have too many bags! I also think the same is true for zip up purses.  You can sew so many great variations on zippered purses with different pleats and colours.  I think this tutorial from Skip to my Lou http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/04/27/pleated-pouch-tutorial/ is a great way to start if you are a beginner to pleats and also zips (as they can be such fiddly things to get right!)  Being a self confessed button-a-holic there was no way mine was going to get away without a bit of trusty button embellishment!  So if you were all wondering what you are getting for Christmas the secrets out.  They’re perfect for stashing lips balms, grips and hair bobbles in! These adorable criss cross coasters are so easy to put together and make a wonderful present for someone.  All you need is a hand square template making, 2 different coordinating fabrics, interfacing (iron on is a must for me!).  Thanks to http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/11/crisscross_coas.html for sharing such a great pattern.  I have seen a variation on this by folding each square into a triangle.  They make perfect mats for candle holders, plant pots and sometime just a decent brew, plus they are fully washable.

Sweety little felt scene, I’m thinking cushion!

I’ve had a handmade skirt from the 70′s which was handed down to me for sometime now and alas I am no longer able to get into it. Enter rainy Saturday and my trust sewing machine and hey presto some lovely vintage bunting to brighten my room up.

Finally got around to sewing buttons on to my bag. I used a mix of new and vintage ones from my collection, I love the mix and match feel they give it. As the bag is hessian I put a nice lining in to give my belongings a wee bit of extra comfort with some lovely vintage material from my friend.

Finally got my lovely htc phone screen fixed the other day and thought I would whip up a lovely new phone case to celebrate the occasion. I used a few felt scraps and a wee bit of ribbon. I have had lots of lovely compliments about it. Although I confess I’m gearing up to start crocheting a new one.

The lovely crochet blanket is getting there only another 100 rows to go.

I have just started making these adorable little sock buddies.

I was lent a couple of books on making them and have been meaning to get started on them.

Armed with a pack of baby socks from asda and a bag of stuffing I started the mission.

On the whole I am pretty pleased with them.

I’m looking forward to experimenting more with body shapes and with facial expressions in the future.
