cutesy patchwork drawstring

A rainy sunday with comfort food and some relaxing sewing with my friend danielle, led to the creation of this lovely patchwork drawstring.  A lovely autumn colour purse.  Having a bit of a button crazy day and 3 lovely button bracelets were made with ribbon and by layers the buttons on some stretch nylon.p091108_215503p091108_2155011

Felted Purses

As it was a typical raining sunday afternoon, i got the crafting bug and made a selection of simple felted purses.  My love of all that is black and white came out again on the button one, and infact i think this is my favourite of the three.  An eventful morning at JTF buying ribbon also insipired me to make ribbons the focus of all my purse embelishments.

Purse of Colours

Heres a pretty colourful purse i made for friends present.  I used patchwork strips with interfacing and and a black lining, its quite a sturdy little pouch due to interfacing the lining and outer patch work, topped off with a little fabric mushroom and a button…ahhh buttons my fave!!

Recycled coasters

Finally got around to making the recycled coasters, heres one of those

ok so this time using the kristin pattern i extended the bottom for more depth and gave the patchwork a miss and found this really quick to make, it has no fastening as such but i am working on a ribbon and toggle idea. i took the mushrooms further and added beads and shells, will post a closer up photo of these shortly.

Inspiration

I think this bag from etsy is so inspirational, the colours are so inviting and as soon as i saw it my mind was buzzing with ideas for my own work, the crocheted toadstool really tops it off beautifully and i am only sad that i have had this picture some time now and can no longer find the creator to pay thanks for creating such a visually stimulating bag!

Cute little bag

I found this wonderful tutorial for a lovely bag whilst browsing the purse project http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0

A very easy bag to make and can be knocked up using scraps left over, i chose some vintage buttons (god bless mum for keeping everything) and a cute little material mushroom (thanks to kristin la flamme) as i saw these on one of her sweet handbags, of which i have made a few, more to follow.

Recycle, Recycle…the possibilities are endless

Being a warrior for all that is green i started to feel very excited to when i stumbled upon this nifty tutorial on how to recyle all those junk cds into coasters. http://scrapdash.blogspot.com/2008/03/cd-coasters-tutorial.html I am v excited to start this project and as shall hopefully post some pictures of my finished coaster set soon.
